Akron OH Rebuilt A140E Transmission

Manufactured by Toyota, the AL40E is a trans-axle 4-speed automatic transmission. First produced in 1983, the A140E automatic transmission is known to have an extensively long life cycle. Production of the AL40E lasted throughout the 2001 model year. Considering how quickly technology changes in this fast-paced world, it is considered a rarity that such a component of a vehicle would be manufactured for such a long period of time. Installed in Toyota's Camry, Celica, and Solora models, the AL40E is not considered a very powerful transmission and accordingly belonged to low-powered 4-cylinder engines. The fact that this transmission was in use for such a lengthy time, it is imperative that both vehicle owners and technicians are aware of the various issues known to exist with this transmission.
